Cisco and Manchester City Football Club have collaborated to create the Connected scarf, a smart scarf that fans can wear. This novelty features sensors that track the emotions of fans.
The electrical activity of the skin is monitored by sensors, which indicate the degree of stress and euphoria. These data are used to determine the audience’s emotional state. Six club members have already tested the novelty, and were shown the most brilliant moments from the games.
The scarf is a beloved accessory, and fans all over the globe have it. “Our project with Cisco allows us to connect with fans and keep in touch,” said Nuria Tarre (spokesperson for City Football Group).
Although the scarves are not yet available to the general public, a few New York City and Manchester City fans will receive them. The novelty will be available for everyone starting in the 2023/2024 season. The price is not known.
