Not only iPhone 15. Named Apple devices that will switch to USB-C

Apple has been moving many of its devices to USB C in recent years. This connector is found in the MacBook Air, iPad Pro and iPad Air. According to reports, at least five other Apple accessories and products will switch to USB-C soon.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst, the iPhone 14 will still use the Lightning connector. However, at least one new iPhone 15 will have a USB-C port. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman confirmed that Apple is testing prototype iPhone models equipped with USB-C ports. This smartphone will be available next year.

Mark Gurman said that Apple will update its entry-level iPad with an USB-C connector. Apple could release the 10th-generation iPad in September. Apple will release the 10th generation iPad to complete its transition to USB-C after four years.

Kuo anticipates that other Apple accessories will switch to USB C once the iPhone switches over to USB-C. This includes AirPods charging cases. The new connector will also receive a MagSafe battery that can be used with iPhone 12 or newer.

Ming-Chi Kuo also expects that the Apple Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad will use USB-C ports. The Lightning connector is used for charging all three accessories.
