Higole, a Chinese brand, has launched an Indiegogo campaign in order to raise funds for the Gole1 Pro. This pocket computer runs Windows but isn’t too different from a smartphone.
This new model will have a touch screen of 5.5 inches and enough hardware to complete simple tasks. This will be an excellent replacement for cheap laptops or tablets. The many ports are a bonus.
Two processor options will be available for the novelty: an Intel Celeron N4000 with two cores at a frequency 1.1 GHz and a stronger Intel Celeron J4125, with four cores at a frequency 2.2 GHz. A 5.5-inch display, 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of permanent memory will be available. There will be four USB Type-A ports simultaneously, one USB Type C each, a 3.5 mm output and Gigabit Eth, as well two HDMI 2.0 ports. A microSD card reader will also be available (up to 2 TB). It will also support Bluetooth 5.0/5.2 and Wi-Fi 5./6.
You also get a microphone, speaker, and a case made of metal. There is not a webcam. Windows 11 promises support for up to two 4K external displays. Prices for retail will vary depending on whether the processor or wireless interfaces are used.
The company already has a full-fledged candy bar with a similar design in 2020.
