The Intel Arc A380 videocard does not offer high performance, low cost, or driver stability. It is also not able to boast of energy efficiency, high speed, or driver stability. It is, however, still superior to the massive SoC Apple M1 Max for certain tasks.
The Web has hosted video decoding task testing of modern GPUs. Although the subject matter was a bit strange, the results were still indicative.
The Arc A380 is able to bypass the expensive and extremely expensive Apple platform, which you can only get in a high-end PC. The M1 Max also performed at the iGPU level with AMD’s past and current hybrid mobile processors, but lags behind Core i5-1130G7 in the second test. The M1 Max performs second only to the Intel in the second test.
The author recalls also that both the Arc A380 and M1 Max have two blocks for video codec, which means that they can process two streams simultaneously.
