The first car of the Huawei Inside program goes into mass production

Huawei announced over a year ago a partnership with Chinese electric car manufacturer Arcfox in order to produce a premium electric automobile based on the Huawei Hi (Huawei Inside). The vehicle combines HarmonyOS-based smart displays and the Huawei HiCar solution to Level 3 self-driving driving.

The Arcfox Alpha-S, the first production vehicle under the Huawei Inside Program, is now in full production. The unmanned driving system of the electric vehicle is equipped with three LiDAR sensors as well as six millimeter wave radars and twelve ultrasonic sensor. There are also four surround view cameras.

The Arcfox Alpha-S is available from January. However, only a limited number of units were initially made. The Zhenjiang plant is now producing the electric vehicle in full-scale.

The Huawei Hi ArcFox Alpha S, which is powered by HarmonyOS and Huawei’s self-driving technology, is a first car to have this operating system. The car features a Kirin990A single-chip system as well as a 5G modem.

It has a permanent magnet synchronous motor of 643 HP. It has a maximum torque output of 655 Nm. You can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. A triple lithium battery is included in the car, which is protected by IP68. It allows you to drive 708km without needing to recharge and can be charged very quickly: it takes just 10 minutes to charge the battery.
