Geekebnch has spotted an engineering sample of the Intel Core i7-13700K CPU. The CPU scored 2190 points in single-threaded tests and 16542 in multi-threaded ones, scoring 2090 and 16542 respectively. This allowed the CPU to surpass both the Core i7-12700K, and the Ryzen 9 5950X.
Important to remember that the Core i7-13700K was only tested with DDR4 memory and not DDR5 – the results will be better if you use it with DDR4 memory. This is based on the Core i5-13600K tests. ASRock Z690 Steel Legend motherboard was used as the base for this test platform.
Geekbench scores the Core i7-12700K 1856 and 14102 in single- and multithreaded tests. As an engineering sample, the Core i7-13700K is significantly faster than its counterpart with DDR4 RAM. It is true that the Core i7-13700K has 8 large cores and 8 small cores, giving 24 threads. Core i7-12700K features 8 large cores and 4 small cores. It also has 20 threads. The Core i7-13700K runs at 5.3 GHz, compared to 5.0 GHz for Core i7-12700K. The Core i7-13700K is similar to the Core i9-12900K in terms of parameters. It also features 16 cores and support for 24 threads. Maximum frequency is 5.2 GHz.
These specs make it easy to see why the Core i7-13700K performs better than the Ryzen 9 5950X in single- and multi-threaded tests.
